Officers of the Merriam Woods Police Department

Nathan Lewis - Chief of Police Chief Nathan Lewis was appointed and sworn in as Chief of Police on June 08, 2021. Nathan grew up in the Springfield area before moving to the St. Louis Metropolitan area. A graduate of the Missouri Sheriffs' Association Training Academy in 2011, Nathan began his law enforcement career in the North St. Louis County area before relocating back to the Springfield/Branson area presently. Nathan has been a K-9 Handler since 2013 and also served during the Ferguson, Missouri Riots of 2014 and subsequent civil uprisings in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. Nathan was also privileged to work the Presidential Debate detail of 2016 along with numerous other agencies. Nathan is a 2015 graduate of Columbia College in St. Louis and possesses an Associate in Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Along with his degree, Nathan possesses a background in and numerous certifications in the Information Technology field ranging from Microsoft, CompTIA, Dell and Sophos. In 2022, Nathan also earned the prestigious designation of Certified Municipal Official through the Missouri Municipal League's Municipal Governance Institute; Nathan is also a Notary Public for the State of Missouri.
Stephanie Bova - Lieutenant
Timothy Dustman - Corporal Corporal Tim Dustman grew up on the West Coast where he graduated from the Rio Hondo Police Academy in 2004. Tim has been with the Merriam Woods Police Department since 2014. Prior to his career with the City of Merriam Woods, Tim worked in the Fitness and Personal Protection industries. Over the years, Tim served the United States for 10 years working with the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Merchant Marines and was attached to a Joint Special Operations Command Camp. Tim has had the opportunity to work abroad with allied governments in Asia, The Middle East, Africa, and Europe; saw action in such countries as Iraq, Israel, and Japan. Tim is a certified instructor in several Law Enforcement subject matters and is SWAT qualified. Tim is married with two children.
He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, adventure and exercise.
Anthony Castello - Patrolman Officer Anthony Castello grew up in the Saint Louis area and moved to Springfield in 2014. He has been in law enforcement since 2007 and has served citizens all across the State of Missouri. Officer Castello has worked as county patrol deputy, univeristy campus police officer, and municipal patrol officer and supervisor. Anthony has specialized in criminal drug interdiction over the course of his law enforcement career. Anthony is married with 3 kids and loves spending time with his wife, family, sports, and traveling to various countries.
Steven Burgher - Patrolman
Officer Steve Burgher grew up in the Springfield area and moved to St Louis in 2010. He is a United States Army Veteran and has been a police officer for 11 years; Officer Burgher graduated the Missouri Sheriffs Association Academy in 2010. He graduated from St. Louis Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. Officer Burgher served as a Corporal with the Hillsdale Police Department in north St. Louis County for 5 years, serving during the Ferguson riots in 2014. In 2014, Officer Burgher moved back to the Springfield area and married his wife, Jennifer. Officer Burgher has 6 kids and loves spending time with his family, camping and going on road trips.
